Hi Creative Passions Friends,
We are heading into my favorite time of year….no heat and humidity, chilly nights and very soon….SNOW! I don’t ski or snowmobile, I just love the beauty of the season. You all probably know we live just a mile from our buildings, so the drive is quite easy for me. If I had to drive a long way I might not like it as much.
Remember to take time for yourselves as we get into the holiday season. It is easy to get overwhelmed with commitments and all the things you think you “should” do. What can you do to make the end of the year easier for yourself? Store-bought snacks? Pre-printed holiday cards? Set a deadline to be done holiday shopping, then relax? Let me know if you have a go-to idea to go easier on yourself.

Reminders
January 1, 2026 the price will go up to $185 for both weekday and weekend retreats. Early arrival will remain at $30 to come a night early at 8pm.
Please double check your retreat dates for 2026. Because the early arrival of the first weekend is on January 1 (a holiday), the first weekend of reservations is January 8. The first weekday is January 4 for early arrivals. Retreats by name have been on the website for nearly a year, please refer there if you aren’t sure of your dates.

Well it's transition from garden to puzzles for me. I purchased the cutest puzzle at our quilt shop for my sister. It's a 550 piece in a cool box with a sewing machine on top. When I took it to her she surprised me with a unicorn pillow kit which required no sewing for my two granddaughters! Such a perfect activity it turned out to be. It has 20 precut strips to feed through preslit holes that you knot after stuffing, which was included. The horn and ears were already attached. Eyelashes and flowers came with a sticky back to place how desired.

AS WWII ends, eighteen-year-old Zofia Lederman is one of the survivors of the Gross-Rosen Concentration Camp. She is liberated to a camp where conditions are almost as hard as Gross-Rosen. Food is still scarce, clothing hard to find, and just keeping warm is a struggle. Zofia can barely believe that the terrors of the camp are ended and that she is expected to pick up the pieces of her life and go on.
Three years earlier, she and her brother, Abek, were the only members of their family to be sent to the right, away from the gas chambers where the rest of their family were sent. Because men and women were separated as well, Zofia does not know what happened to Abek.
Zofia had promised Abek they would be reunited after the war ended. This story features a part of post-war I had never considered: what does it take to rebuild your life when all the pieces have gone missing? Will Zofia fulfill her promise to Abek? What compromises will she, and the other survivors, need to make to find peace and happiness?

Video Game: Ghost of Yotei: This Playstation exclusive features gorgeous visuals, deep combat, and a compelling tale of revenge. I haven't had this much fun with a game in a long time. Highly recommend. 10/10
