December Newsletter

Laura's Corner

Happy Holiday Season!

I hope you all enjoyed delicious food, family time and safe travels during the busiest weekend of the year—Thanksgiving!  As much as I love snow, it was nice that families were able to travel without worries.

December is typically a super busy month.  How are you making it easier on yourself?  Shopping early for Holiday presents?  Buy just one gift for each person?  Buy no gifts and donate the money to a charitable organization? Cook early and freeze items that can thaw and still be good?  Have everyone bring one passing dish?  Eat off paper plates so cleanup is easy? Plan an outdoor scavenger hunt for the kids to keep them busy before sitting down for dinner? Don’t be so strict on the date to meet, food that HAS to be made, a spotless house, a perfect tree.  Try to relax and enjoy.  I know, I know, easier said than done, but just try.

When this newsletter goes out, we will still be having our “Black Friday” sale through the end of Monday, December 2.  Click HERE to go directly to the sale items and plan ahead for holiday gifts, birthday presents and Valentine’s Day.  My husband doesn’t celebrate “fake holidays” like Valentine’s Day, but that doesn’t mean I don’t buy myself something!!!

Have a safe December and know that at Creative Passions we appreciate all of you!

 Tamara's Tidbits

As we come to the end of the year, things in the office tend to be a bit slower. This allows us time to get organized and ready for the new year ahead. There are exciting things coming!

It also gives me time to work on the 2026 Calendars. Yes, you read that right, I'm already working on 2026!!! Once it is completed, we will let you know so that our returning groups can get their dates on the calendar.

The 2025 Calendars have been up for just about a year now. If you need to check out dates, you can find them HERE. These files get updated about once a week, so if you don't see your name, give us a call or send us an email to verify.

Barb and I hope you had a great Thanksgiving, and we wish you Happy Holidays!

A Warm Thanksgiving Reflection ??????????

Thanksgiving is such a beautiful time to slow down, gather close, and savor the blessings around us. It is about sharing laughter around the table, cherishing the people we hold dear, and creating memories that linger long after the plates are cleared. Whether it’s the golden crunch of fallen leaves underfoot or the cozy smell of pumpkin pie baking in the oven, there’s a special magic in the air. ?????

As we come together this season, let’s take a moment to truly appreciate the love, joy, and even the little quirks that make our families and friends so special. After all, it’s the togetherness—not the turkey—that fills our hearts the most. ????????

And to make your gathering even warmer, here’s a delicious hot cider recipe that can be enjoyed by all—spiked for those who wish, or left as a comforting non-alcoholic treat. ????????

Cozy Spiced Apple Cider Recipe ???? Serves 6–8 ????

Ingredients

  • 1 gallon apple cider
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 5 whole cloves
  • 2 star anise (optional, for extra flavor)
  • 1 orange, sliced into rounds
  • 1 apple, thinly sliced for garnish
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup (optional, for added sweetness)
  • Optional: bourbon, spiced rum, or whiskey for a spiked version

Instructions

  1. Combine the ingredients:
In a large pot or slow cooker, pour in the apple cider. Add the orange slices, cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise and maple syrup if desired.
  2. Simmer the cider:
Heat the mixture on low for at least 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally to release the flavors of the spices. If using a slow cooker, set it to low for 2-3 hours.
  3. Strain and serve:
Before serving, strain the cider to remove the spices and orange slices (if desired). Ladle into mugs and garnish with apple slices, a fresh cinnamon stick, or an orange wedge.
  4. Add a festive touch:
For those who want a little holiday cheer, add a splash (about 1-2 ounces) of your favorite spirit to each mug and stir.
