Happy Snow Days!
What a Michigan January we have had, 40 degrees, 20 degrees, rain, snow, ice… Good thing we all expect this every year. Do you remember the year it was 80 degrees on St. Patrick’s Day? Now that was crazy!
Just a reminder for your retreats, there are no longer 5-gallon water jugs at any retreat buildings. If you cannot live without your bottled water, Franks Supermarket and Dollar General have individual and gallon size. Our water in Chesaning is fine to drink, I promise we are not trying to poison you.
Have you heard that we are hosting a Quilt Walk in Chesaning, May 2-4, 2024? We would love to have a quilt or few of yours to display that week. There will be three categories that will win prizes: adult, teen and youth. Stay tuned for more information and follow Chesaning Quilt Walk on Facebook for updates.
Great news on the expansion of the Quilt Shop! We will be having an open house at the end of February! Tentatively we are planning Tuesday through Thursday, February 27-29 for the celebration! Keep watching the progress on our Facebook page. There will be LOTS of new products for quilters, items for scrapbookers and gift items too!
Looking forward to seeing you at the retreats and in the quilt shop!

Hope you are all staying warm and safe.
Selena's Scoop
New year, new you, goals and resolutions galore, for some. I definitely like to have some things in mind when I start a new year and to reflect on what went right and what went wrong the previous year. I think all of us want more me time, eat healthier and spend less time in the kitchen or is that just me? I’m a huge fan of the Crockpot and the ease it provides. My family, although life is a little simpler, still has demanding schedules and odd times coming and going. For us, utilizing the crockpot is a huge help. This meal is delicious, healthier and can feed most families for an affordable price. Who doesn’t love saving money?
Bone in or boneless Chicken thighs or breasts-I use boneless
Baby potatoes
Shredded Parmesan Cheese
Olive Oil
Salt, pepper, thyme, rosemary, oregano
I start by placing my potatoes in the bottom of the Crockpot, add 2tbs of olive oil, sprinkle with any seasonings you want, I’ve suggested mine. Then add shredded parmesan cheese and mix well. Once mixed, place your chicken on top and season the same as you did your potatoes. I cook on my low setting for 4-6 hours depending on the size of your crockpot.
