August Newsletter

Laura's Corner

Hey Retreat Friends!

Wow summer is flying by; it is hard to believe that it is already August! Summer brings so many projects to be done and it seems we will never be caught up here. Just like at home, right? Only here there are four buildings to keep up with maintenance, cleaning, and grounds beautification. We do our best to keep up with your requests and suggestions, know that we really do try.

In addition, I try to visit the building when your group is here, it is very nice chatting with guests. Some of you have been coming for 17 years, some are brand new in 2022! I will continue to do my best to get around to visit everyone, if I do not make it, it is not because I don’t like you . I remember the days when there was enough time to have a mimosa with each group!

Like most businesses, we are looking to hire smiling faces to join our team. There is some information listed below if you are interested. We are fun to work with, but know part of your job description is keeping 100+ women happy every week!

Sew Together Tuesday with Teresa Coates

We are excited to announce that Teresa Coates is bringing Sew Together Tuesday to Creative Passions!!!! Teresa is a National Educator, teaching at educational events nationwide and producing video tutorials. She will be streaming LIVE on Tuesday September 6th from our Retreat Center, sharing a fun project with viewers and guests who are attending this event.

On Tuesday, our guests can attend her live event, followed by a class on making a Self Binding Blanket. On Wednesday she will return to teach a class for a Luxe Cuddle Robe. If you're not familiar with Cuddle fabric, you are missing out! It is luxurious and oh so soft.

Guests can sign up attend one, two or all three offerings: Live Event, Self Binding Blanket class, or Robe Class. Details on pricing can be found HERE

And as a bonus, the first 15 guests who register will receive a FREE SWAG BAG loaded with goodies, including STT Merch and a gift card for use at our Quilt Shop. We will have a few more available for purchase as well.

Tamara's Tidbits

Hello friends! This week we will be emailing our December Retreat Packets out to the group leaders. This will have your due date, as well as information about manicures, pedicures, and massages. So please be on the lookout for those as deposits will be due in September.

We also want to say Thank You to our group leaders for your understanding as we reach out to you to verify your guest numbers for your upcoming retreats. Last month we sent out an email regarding how we are handling our reservations and what you can expect from us. If you'd like to read it again, please follow this link and click on the Policy Updates Newsletter. Newsletter (creativepassionsllc.com)

Lastly, today marks my 11th Anniversary here at CP! What started out as a one day a week job quickly turned into full time. One building quickly turned into two, then on to three, a retreat center and a quilt shop. It's been an amazing journey and I look forward to what our future holds. I have enjoyed my time speaking with our guests and building friendships with our team members. I love my job and can't imagine being anywhere else. When you are surrounded by good people, it makes going to work easy.

I hope you all enjoy the last month of summer and spend some time enjoying the sunshine!

Selena's Scoop

It’s already August, which is so hard to believe. For some, you think that Summer is almost over and for others, you think, the heat has barely kicked in and Indian Summer is just around the corner. I know in my house, we’re getting Nolan ready to head back to MSU and Lucas ready for his first semester at Mott Community College. Regardless of the season or how busy we all get, one thing never changes and that’s the fact, my boys absolutely love a hearty breakfast, especially one mom cooks and they don’t have to. This month’s recipe is a real winner with my boys and is one you can change and adapt based on what your family likes for their breakfast food.

8 Grands Biscuits-quartered

2 cups frozen tater tots

1 dozen eggs whisked, mix in ¼ cup milk

2 cups of shredded cheese, I use cheddar but you could certainly use any cheese you like

1 cup diced ham or one package of ground breakfast sausage, cook and drain if using the sausage

Mix all items and place in a greased bundt pan. Bake on 400° for 45 minutes. When done, flip onto a platter and cut and serve.

This recipe could be adapted to add veggies, this may alter the cooking time. Another great idea is to take your sausage drippings and create a gravy from them and pour over your pieces.
