Hi Creative Passions Friends! Summer is here and so are the ants and weeds! Every year I cannot wait for our high schoolers to get out for summer break, as they take over mowing, weed whipping, weeding, watering and everything outdoors for us! I really was happy that it stayed cold so long, so we didn't have to do all of those things too many times just Kent, Allie and I.
Even though our retreats are quite full, we do maintain a waiting list, which we go through immediately each time a date opens up. Also, a group may not be full, so if you are open to joining another group, most times we can get in smaller groups. If you share a building, you DO NOT ever have to share your bedroom with someone you don't know. If your summer plans change, you can always make last-minute reservations too.
We were so thankful to have a 4-day weekend for Memorial Day, we decided to do it again 4th of July weekend. We will be closed on Friday, July 1 through Monday, July 4, so our families have time together again. We appreciate your understanding that we need days off too!

Hello friends! I am so excited that summer is finally here!!! I get to enjoy the outdoors and sunshine, which makes me very happy.
We are in the process of sending out reminder packets to the October groups. Deposits will be due in July and final payments will be due in September. And just a reminder, we DO NOT store your credit card info. We keep it on file through the end of your stay, then that information is shredded.
Fall is by far our busiest time of the year. If you are unable to make it this year, we can always open up your spot for this year only and keep you on the calendar for 2023. I have a 3 page waiting list currently, and the majority are for groups wanting a date in the fall.

How is it possible that's it's already June? Kids have graduated, mine included, school is almost over for the younger ones. May went out like a lion with some crazy heat, making it almost impossible to cook. My boys aren't crazy about leftovers but there are a few meals I make that have multiple meals that come from the initial meal and one of those is pulled pork sliders.
After making a pork roast in the crock pot, I'll use the leftovers for sliders.
Shredded pork, reheated with BBQ sauce added
12 count Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
Additional BBQ sauce
French's Fried Onions
Sliced cheddar
3 tbs butter, melted
Tbs fresh minced garlic
1/2 Tbs Italian seasoning
Tbs brown sugar
1/2 Tbs Worcestershire sauce
Carefully cut the the 12 sliders in half, leaving them hooked together. Place as much shredded pork on the sliders as you like. Add additional BBQ sauce. Sprinkle as much fried onions as you like. Cover everything with sliced cheese and place top bun back on.
Mix remaining ingredients together and brush over the top and sides.
Bake in the oven at 350° for 7-10 minutes until toasty brown. Cut apart and enjoy.
