Andrew Lee the combat quilter will be offering three separate classes this fall!
August 26, 27 or the 28.
Classes will be offered at a rate of $100 per day, which will include lunch and patterns.
Class times: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm each day
Day 1: Quilted Jacket
Students are required to bring a finished quilt to class a minimum size of 60" x 80" up to a size 18. Larger quilt required for sizes over 18 or for fussy cutting jacket pieces. Students will be using a pattern by Twig and Tale. Students will be provided a pattern in their desired size to use during class. Patterns are not provided for future student use but can be purchased online. Students will need to bring their sewing machines, finished quilt and 2/3 yard of cotton fabric for binding. Please bring basic sewing supplies, scissors, coordinating thread, pins, and any other normal sewing items you may need.
Day 2: Flip N out Bag
The bag can be made in about 6 hours. The quilting takes the longest, but I would love to teach the different methods, unless people want to use a long arm and quilt some crazy designs in it. 60 degree diamonds work really well, and are easy. The Pattern is the part we need to figure out. I have attached the alternate instructions for the 12" size. The by Annie pattern needs to be purchased prior to the event, however I teach the 12" size, which is not in the pattern. see attached sheet.
Day 3: Quilt Carrier
This bag holds 5 Quilts of Valor, 3 queen quilts, or 2 king quilts. We will have to figure out the dowel rods and fiber board. its 1 5/8 yd for outer, and 1 5/8yd for liner. Pockets can also be added, which I will go over in class.
