FAQs

Q. Do you accept online reservations or payments?
A. No. We prefer to speak with our guests directly or to use email to communicate. You can call us at 989-845-2159 to make your reservation, or contact us through on Contact Form found under the More tab. Also, we accept credit cards over the phone only. We NEVER ask for your credit card information via email or any other form such as PayPal. If you'd prefer to mail in a check, you may do so and must include a filled out registration form. Q. What does the $165 price include?
A. For weekend retreats, the price includes lodging, bedding, towels, and continental breakfast on Saturday and Sunday.
A. For weekday retreats, the price includes lodging, bedding, towels and continental breakfast on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Q. What is your payment policy?
A. A deposit of $85 per person is due 90 days in advance, with the remaining $80 being due 30 days in advance. No deposit is required at the time of reserving your dates unless it is less than 90 days prior to your stay. If you pay us with a check and it is returned to us, we will charge you $20 to cover the Returned Check Fee charged to us by our bank.

Q. What is your cancellation policy?
A. If you cancel your reservation 30 or more days in advance, you can receive a refund minus a $20 cancellation fee or you can forward your full amount towards a future retreat to be used within 18 months. Forwarding is done one time only. If you cancel your reservation less than 30 days in advance, you can find a replacement who then would pay you, or, you can forward your full amount towards a future retreat to be used within 18 months. Forwarding is done one time only. If you are not able to come at the last minute and DO NOT call to let us know, before your weekend, you will lose your payment. It is impossible for us to keep track of a missed weekend if we do not know you did not come.

Q. Do you hold group reservations if we can't come one year?

A. Our policy is to copy over group reservations year after year when possible. So many of groups have been coming year after year to the same location at relatively the same time of year. When a group can't come one time, we will hold your spot for one year only. However, if you do cancel two years in a row for the same locations and dates, we will not be able to hold it again as we have a waiting list. 

Q. Is this a women's only facility?
A. NO! Women and men who scrapbook, quilt, stamp, or craft are all welcome to any of our locations. We will accommodate accordingly to suit your groups needs.

Q. Are children under 18 allowed?

A. Creative Passions Retreats are adults only retreats for 18+ years old. 

Q. Are pets allowed?
A. Creative Passions Retreats does not allow pets at any location. However, service animals that meet ADA Guidelines are allowed. "Under the ADA, a service animal is defined as a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability.  The task(s) performed by the dog must be directly related to the person's disability." (ADA.gov) Additional cleaning fees may be charged. 


Q. Do you have a waiting list?

A. YES! Often 1 to 6 spots will open up in the final 30 days before a reserved, FULL weekend/weekday.

Q. What groups can you accommodate?
A. Creative Passions® is set up for Scrapbookers, Quilters, Rubber Stampers, and other crafts.

Q. When are check-in/check-out times?
A. Weekdays - Monday Noon to Thursday 3:00 pm; Weekends - Friday Noon to Sunday 3:00 pm.

Q. Can we arrive early?
A. Yes, early arrival on Thursday at 8 pm for a weekend retreater, and Sunday at 8 pm for a weekday retreater for $30 extra per person. Continental breakfast will also be provided for Friday if you arrive Thursday evening, and Monday if you arrive Sunday evening.

Q. How many guests can attend?
  • A. The CP1 facility sleeps 13 at a time.
  • The CP2 facility sleeps 24 at a time.
  • The CP2B facility sleeps 5 at a time.
  • The CP3 facility sleeps 12 at a time.
  • The CP3B facility sleeps 4 at a time.
  • CPRC 24 sleeps 24 at a time.
  • CPRC 16 sleeps 16 at a time.
  • CPRC Suite A sleeps 4 at a time.
  • CPRC Suite B sleeps 4 at a time.
  • CPRC Suite C sleeps 4 at a time.

Q. Is your facility handicap accessible?
  • A. CP1: One main floor bedroom, one full bathroom, the kitchen/dining areas and work areas on the main floor are handicap accessible.
  • CP2: Has ramp accessibility, a handicap accessible full bathroom and a chair rail lift to access the basement, for anyone who cannot comfortably navigate stairs.
  • CP2B: Has steps leading into its separate entrance but you can use the ramp into CP2.
  • CP3: One main floor bedroom that will sleep 2; one full bathroom; the kitchen/dining areas and work areas are on the main floor are handicap accessible.
  • CP3B: Is not handicap accessible. There are 9 steps to get to the lower level.
  • CPRC: Is not handicap accessible. We have 3 bedrooms on the main floor for those who cannot do stairs. Room #0 sleeps 4, Room #1 sleeps 3, and Room #2 sleeps 6. We also have Suites A, B, and C that are located on the main floor and do not have stairs. Each of these suites sleeps 4. There are ramps to wheel up your belongings as well.

Q. What are the sleeping arrangements?
  • A. CP1: 3 bedrooms upstairs sleep 3, each with single beds. On the main floor, 2 bedrooms sleep 2 each, also on single beds.
  • CP2:Four bedrooms sleep four (4) people, one bedroom sleeps three (3), and one bedroom sleeps up to six (6), all on single beds. All bedrooms are located on the lower level.
  • CP2B: One bedroom sleep 2 people on the main floor, both single beds. The upstairs bedroom sleeps 3 with 3 single beds.
  • CP3: One handicap accessible bedroom is on the main floor and will sleep 2, each on single beds. Four bedrooms upstairs sleep three, each with single beds.
  • CP3B: One bedroom will sleep four, each with single beds.
  • CPRC main building: The retreat center was once a hotel so we have many bedrooms to divide up between the groups. Main Floor Bedrooms - #0 sleeps 4, #1 sleeps 3, and #2 sleeps 6. On the second level: #3 sleeps 5, and bedrooms #4 through #11 sleep 4 each.
  • CPRC Suites A, B, and C: Each has one bedroom with four single beds.

Q. How do I schedule a massage or pedicure?

Q. Do I have to come with a group?
A. You can attend a group, a few friends or by yourself.

Q. What supplies are on hand for guests to use?
  • A. For quilters there are ironing stations and cutting stations available for your use as follows:
  • CP1: 2 ironing boards with irons, one cutting station with mat
  • CP2: 2 ironing boards with irons, two cutting stations with mats
  • CP2B: 1 ironing board with iron, one cutting station with mat
  • CP3: 2 ironing boards with irons, one cutting station with mat
  • CP3B: 1 ironing board with iron, one cutting station with mat
  • CPRC24: 2 ironing boards with irons, two cutting stations with mats
  • CPRC16:2 ironing boards with irons, two cutting stations with mats
  • CPRC Suite A: 1 ironing board with iron, one cutting station with mat
  • CPRC Suite B: 1 ironing board with iron, one cutting station with mat
  • CPRC Suite C: 1 ironing board with iron, one cutting station with mat

***Please bring your own rulers and rotary cutters for your use***

For scrapbookers, we have wireless Internet access, hundreds of Stampin' Up rubber stamps, rubber stamp and card-making magazines. Cricut Cartridges are only available at CP1 for your use.

Q. Is the facility air-conditioned?
A. Yes, all rooms and work areas are air-conditioned.

Q. Is smoking allowed?
A. Creative Passions® is smoke-free. There is a smoking area outside the building.

Q. What is served for continental breakfast?
A. A self-service continental breakfast is provided which includes coffee, tea, hot chocolate, milk, orange juice, assorted yogurts, oatmeal, cereal, bagels, cream cheese, margarine, and jelly. This is provided Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for weekday retreats, and Saturday and Sunday for weekend retreats. If you arrive early, you will also get continental breakfast on Monday for weekday retreats, and Friday for weekend retreats.

Q. What kitchen supplies do you have?
A. The kitchen is fully stocked with bakeware, cookware, crockpot, blender, toaster, hand mixer, plates, utensils, glasses, coffee maker, Keurigs at CP 1, 2, 3, and CPRC in the main building (you supply pods), and paper products.
